Guru Yoga

Guru Yoga is an essential meditation practice in the Tibetan traditions and is usually practiced at the beginning of every meditation session and teaching. The purpose of Guru Yoga is to merge one’s mind with the mind of the enlightened masters of the lineage. It involves three stages: purification through visualized fire, wind and water, blessings of body, speech and mind, and complete unification of one’s awareness with the enlightened masters.

Below you will find videos in English and Spanish, with subtitles in several other languages, that explains how to do the practice of Guru Yoga, followed by a guided practice with visualizations. There is also a PDF written guide to the practice.
